Well after finally trying everything I could think of and finally getting over being pissed off at this car I did find an old school shop
here in Dallas that knows all about these old Hydramatics.
They have the car now and are tearing it down to find the problem.

I will be back with an update

Great story....I actually do the same thing in my garage, sit in or stare at it for what seems like hours...makes me smile even if I can't drive it year round....spring can't get here soon enough!

Thanks everyone!

Being obsessed  with this model year Cadillac since 1995 itís hard to believe I actually own one this clean and with this many options! Truth be told, I sat in  a folding chair at the right front fender staring at the car for probably an hour and a half the day it arrived and then my brother and I sat in the car for about 2 1/2 hours drinking scotch and just enjoying the scenery.

I canít wait for spring to get here! LOL

Many thanks!

Try searching for NOS 1961 or 62 Cadillac parts on Ebay  but put    -fits   after your search it will clear most of the useless clutter and give you search more useful results .
With out the minus fits it will give 976 results but with the -fits is gives 173 results, much less crap the deal with.   NOS 1962 Cadillac -fits

If memory serves me right SMS new the correct amount of material for the seats. Maybe they can figure out how much more you would need for the kick panels.

There's a lot of yardage needed because it's tuck and roll not top stitched. I think believe the parts manual may have the yardage required.  You don't want to be short of fabric when you come to do the job. It was the owner of SMS that I had the trouble with. Their fabric is great but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Phil

The front seat bottom cushion contains literally over 100 springs in seven sewn rows.

I am sandblasting and painting each one. Then sewing them back together.
I figure I can sandblast and paint one row a night. Then sew it the next day. This spring assembly alone will take me to Christmas.

The seat backs have fewer larger springs. So those assemblies should go quicker.
