Battery cable clip picture
« on: January 18, 2017, 06:33:05 PM »
I am in need of a picture of the original battery cable clip that is on the radiator core support.   I have a good mount piece, but need to see how the clip goes. I am going to look into getting this reproduced.

the clip offered by OPGI does not have a correct mount base, and I do not know if the rest of it is correct.

The locking feature is a two sided oval molded in.  The gap between the sides expands and locks as the round center rod is installed.

Carl, that is awesome! I never expected to see an original piece. Do you have a repop clip to compare it to?  Or can I borrow that one.

This is all I have.  I still have the locking piece from my parts car but the actual clip is broken off.

I could probably loan them to someone who hopes to reproduce them.   I have the feeling this part is to brittle to try to reuse so it may never go back on my car.

I know you can restore hard rubber with xytol and wintergreen oil. But I do not think it is possible to restore brittle plastic

The ball is being set into motion as we speak.  The repop clip is junk. It is not correct, and is brittle and breaks very easily.

I'm going to see about an exact visual replica. The mount feature will be different with no push pin. Just press the clip into the hole on the rad support.
