A couple more pics for ya.   8)  Suppose this is the original spare tire?

Nice car.  To answer your question, that is not the original spare tire, but, rather a later replacement.  An original 1961 spare tire would have had a 2 1/4" white wall if the car was ordered that way from new or a black wall (not that many people ordered black wall tires).

The a/c systems on these cars are fairly simple, so it should be relatively easy to service.

Looks like a real nice one.  They are great cars.  I love mine.  I prefer the 4 door styling, and t's great to be able to carry adults in the back without making them pretend to be gymnasts.

Thanks!  I took the cover off and took a pic too.  I thought maybe someone would know what brand/model was used originally  for the spare, hence that pic.

I'll have to go out and take more interior pics for Clewis.   :)

Well - that very well could be an original spare.

OE suppliers in 1961 were BFG, Firestone, and US Royal.

I will look at my spare and tell you what the brand is. Mine has more of a pie crust edge then that.

If you have a spare $50 laying around you could order the build sheet for it.  In addition to the other information there is a column that notes the tire brand that the car came with.
