1962 Coupe de Ville splash aprons
« on: August 15, 2017, 11:00:12 PM »
Hi vrybody.
I'm in need of some help.
Restoring my 1962 Coupe de Ville and can't find drawings or pics of splash shield apron locations on undederbody. I took bumpers, doors and fenders off to clean and repair rusted spots and found most of the splash aprons and shields missing or ripped. Made copies out of some masticated rubber I had stored from old proyects and need pictures or drawing of locations for them.
Does anyone know where I mite find them.
Thanks. Appreciate any and all help.

Moreracing I read your post but don't understand what your looking for.  Are you talking about the under sheet metal shield that goes between the bumper and frame? Dave

Here is what I have. The first picture is from my parts book. The second picture is near the front left lower radiator support / tie rod area.

Hello Moreracing If you are speaking of the rubber splash shields you can purchase a kit from opgi or rubber the wright way ,If you are missing sheet metal you will have to locate a salavage yard or parts car .If you could mark off the parts you need on the picture or show part no# all of us members can help you locate your parts .

Here is some picture of the rubber that goes between the front wheel and engine.

According to the picture you have posted, maybe you want to see picture of the rubber that goes between fender and car body? I send you some pics of them tomorow

Great. Thanks. I can install the aprons the right way now.
Using CROSEAL on rusted underbody (not much rust but since i have the oportnity)
Using a torch to heat the metal,  then apply the product.

I heat the surface with a small torch. Just enough to warm it up. Then apply CRROSEAL  and waith for 15 minutes. Then apply some more heat and it seals against rust. It turns it to magnatite or someting. Itll never rust again.
