« on: August 24, 2017, 03:16:35 PM »
Some time ago i found on the web a list of every part under the hood, for every part the was a description of the original color the part is supposed to be..

Does anybody have this list?

I'm actually looking for the original color of the FAN does its supposed to be black or dark blue?

The fan color on both of my cars was the ambiguous semi gloss black.  The closest I cam to this "semi" gloss is the VHT gloss chassis frame paint.  This was from Dans suggestion.

I have two options for the gloss.  Krylon Industrial gloss black or rustoleum engine black.  The rustoleum is glossier but it does not spray well.  The krylon industrial is great for laying out even with consistent sheen.

Thanks for the list, this is exactly what i was searching for!

For the black i actually use krylon gloss black, the only issue i have with this paint is that it need a lot of time to be dry.. i have to wait like 48 hours after each layer.. but the gloss is nice :)

Thanks again for the list!

The krylon industrial is different.  It dries much faster.  Sprays very thin.  But I can only find it at a fastener supply house near me.  Last time I was there I had them order me three cases.  I only have 3 cans left.  The krylon industrial semi gloss (semi flat) is even better.  It dries to the touch in ten minutes and lays down so smooth it looks like powder coat. But not the right sheen unfortunately.

Can anybody tell me what is the original color of the Windshield washer jar lid?

The one i have has been painted in blue...

I will probably paint the one i have in original color... Or maybe i will buy a new one if if found one for a good price..

Byt the way, is there any sticker that is supposed to be on the jar? i see a lot of sticker for the "bottle" but not sure if the glass jar that i have should have a sticker on it?

Thanks!

No sticker on the glass jar part, only the accessory bottle that would have appeared under the hood.

New lids can be had for under $50 from McVey I believe with a sticker already applied.

I have look at McVey website and they sell it for 75$.. a little bit too mutch for me..

You said that there is supposed to have a sticker applied on the lid?

PS: Just for the fun, i tried a KRAFT Peanut Butter lid and it fit right there  ;)
