Engine bay plating for 62
« on: September 12, 2017, 08:17:06 PM »
Does anyone out there have some good pictures or data relating the plating of the engine bay parts on a 62?  I've seen highly restored cars with the gold plating on hood hinges,  hood latch striker assy., fender and radiator core support bolt heads, brake booster (delco moraine), and triangular bracket for the cruise control, but I've also seen cad plating and a mix.  I know that the fuel and brake lines are cad. and that some linkages are gold.
Thanks,

The chart on this thread is from the 61 62 authenticity manual

This thread shows me trying to do the plating myself.  I would not recommend that unless you just want to learn.
