What's the difference 55 and 56 steel wheels/rims
« on: January 23, 2018, 02:17:30 PM »
Thinking of getting a spare set of steel rims for my 55 Fleetwood. Looked up in the master parts book and the 55 and 56 have a different part number but what is the physical difference?

Thanks,

Bob I could be wrong, but I always thought the '56 rims were designed to accommodate those large, deep dish salad bowl-like hub caps for that model year. Not sure how they would fit on your car though. Anyone ever try them on a '55? Clay/Lexi

Yep 56 is a different wheel for sure. From what I recall they are comparable with the 61 Cadillacs only. The 61's had a deep dish hupcap as well.
