Title: The Gray Lady
Post by: D.Yaros on October 02, 2018, 12:42:20 PM
Hemmings Daily advised me this morn that my beloved Gray Lady is going to cross the auction block with no reserve (Lot W15) at Mecum-Dallas tomorrow (3 Oct 2018).

Judging from the listing pics, the last 3 years of museum life at Bill's Backyard Classics in Amarillo, TX have not been good to/for her.   :'(

Nice 55.  If I had extra space I'd bid on her.

That's a shame Dave, I think you need to buy her back at less than you sold her for😁. Phil

Dave,
You "old" Cadillac is awesome! I have a full house right now but would love to own it! Can't remember if it had factory A/C or not....I don't generally comment on others cars (I find fault in most), but yours  was special!.....walt...tulsa,ok

Well, she cleaned up pretty good and crossed the block strutting her best.  Hammered at $17,500.  What a steal!  That is considerably less than what Pratt paid me for the car in 2015.

I have emailed Mecum with my contact info and asked them to pass it on to the winning bidder, so he may contact me if he so desires.

The commentators drooled over the car and did refer to her as The Gray Lady.

Here are a few pics.

Walt, no A/C.

Wow the guy took a beating on the price when you figure in the commission and shipping expenses. Nice of you to pass along the info.

I am amazed that it went at such a low price. The 50s coupes are getting harder to find and the Gray lady was lovely.

I have to agree, even with the additional 10% Buyer's Premium taking it up to $19,250, it was still a steal!  I know what I paid in 2009, and what Pratt paid me in 2015, and this is less than both.
