Roger, you are correct. The rust is very bad but the bigger problem is this car is missing most of the Eldorado only parts. No rear bumper or wheel well moldings. No interior parts or conv top frame. Non of the upper saddle chrome. No dual quads. A real mess.
This car is worse than mine before I began the restoration! Good luck...

Back at Camber Sands England and the only Cadillac is the one I photographed last year, but it's so nice I thought I'd photo it again, 56 CDV in original mountain laurel and black. Phil

3210mar, the distributor is in the rear of the engine, near the firewall.

That's a bummer. Racoons are fairly new in our area but I have yet to see one. At lower elevations they have been seen. We are at 3,500' and they don't seem to like the cold nights. Where I grew up the elevation was only 400' and there were Racoons everywhere. As far as critters messing with cars, our biggest problem is mice. The easy solution is get a cat. Unfortunately cats don't do well going up against Racoons!

I used a Rubber the Right Way windshield seal and was happy with it. As I live a long way from you, I can't give you much info on the windshield other than the glass guy ordered one for a 1962 Olds Starfire as his catalog didn't list one for Cadillac.  It is in fact, the same windshield.

The 1963 engine has the distributor up front, in contrast to 1962 and older engines, where it is in the back near the fire wall.
I heard from two different people in Mexico about this car. She is very rough but it an early build car with special order paint! On it's way to a new home in Mexico. Stay tuned.
