G'day everyone, My name is Milt (aka CaddyDaddy on the Gold Coast) but you can call me Milt, I live on the Gold Coast in Australia, was a member of the old list for years, but a new one on this list. For those that know me you know this, but for others I own a 61 deVille, its a sedan, but I love 4 doors, a little more rare I would say, as I tell you its harder to get parts for 4 doors, I have found anyway.
We drive her regularly and over the last 9 years that we have owned her we have put around 110,000 miles on the clock, the last big adventure was driving across the Nullarbor with 7 other classic Cadillacs, did 12,000 miles just on that trip, and I was towing my 59 Custom Caddy Camper as well.
I bought my 61 with a fairly good paint job (done in the early 80's) rust was just starting to show up on the lower doors, the rest, Interior and everything mechanical was shot, so over the next 9 years we started rebuilding her without taking her off the road for more than 4 weeks, with the obvious pulled off the standard wheels and put on some custom steel smoothies with baby moons and now gone through a few sets of 4 inch white wall radials, then we had the motor rebuilt, then the tranny both still stock, and engine rebuilt to specs so we could run LPG gas through it as well as gasoline, then new tail shaft and nearly all the bearings and bushes we could rebuilt the front end, completely overhauled the brakes and the cooling system, then I had the Interior seats done, I did the hood lining and the doors, got a new un-split dash, now the Caddy is looking really good, have to re-do some of the wiring but all is working, I have done some small custom work on the grille and the rear lights and a few skulls and LED lights and the like, and we now have a very reliable every day driver, so we do use it, we even got some air con done for the big trip across the Nullarbor, from Gold Coast to Busselton in Western Australia for the 2014 Cadillac Nationals.
Now I am busy rebuilding the Fibreglass full size replica of the rear of a 59 Caddy into a Tear Drop Trailer (the front bit) as we plan to travel a bit more. Hope to get to chat with some of you on this list, and maybe help answer some questions and maybe ask some as well.
I have attached a few pics of the 61 and my Custom Caddy Camper, well so far, its not finished yet.

Hey guys, yes its good to be back, since the last cruise across our country in the 61 no no other big trips yet, been working towards them though, early this year we bought a 60 foot Bendy Bus that we are converting into a Motorhome/Workshop and traveling all around Australia for the next 20 plus years, and yes the 61 Caddy is coming with us, we could not leave her at home, we are converting the 59 Replica Trailer into a Teardrop trailer, the front half will be the teardrop the end will be the Caddy shell as it was when we towed it across the country, we have stretched the trailer another 6 feet and the front will be were we will sleep, the back when we open the trunk the kitchen galley is there, we have already sunk the floor another foot to accomodate a sink and 12v fridge, so when this is hooked up to the 61 Caddy the total length is around 36 feet, my wife will be driving the caddy and I will be driving the bus, and we'll use the motorhome to work and live as a base and then travel around where ever we want in the 61 caddy, and use what I call the Custom Caddy Camper to stay in if we travel away from the Motorhome for the weekend, which we will do most weekends, as we plan to go to every car show and car meet we can in the whole of Australia. I've attached the last pic I have of the trailer now, even added a Continental Kit on the back, wish it was a 61, but you can't have everything, so our tripping around the country continues, just on a more massive scale, we should be ready to leave before 2020, and thats only 4 years away now, but the Caddy Custom Camper should be ready before this year is out. Hope your all well, what have you guys been up to?

Yea thanks, there is a lot going on, The Bendy Bus, its an 1985 Volvo, 6cyl Turbo Diesel and auto trans, GMV of 23 Ton, so heaps can go in there, I am a Bookbinder by trade and run my own business from home, so the rear of the bendy will be a fully equiped Bindery, the only Mobile Bindery in the  World, I restore and repair books, and specialise in Custom Leather Bookbinding, not only this I will also have a large compressor and mig welder and all my tools on board as well, so will be able to fix most on road problems. The front part will be our home full toilet and shower so fully self contained.
I have attached some pics of it for you to see, 60 foot long, this is the limit length of bus we can have on Australian roads.

It was hard to get into our other Driveway, we did not have a lot of room as you can see in the photos, check out this video of us driving it in the driveway.

My God that is massive.   On the one hand I would say that must cost a fortune. But on the other hand I assume the resale market for those cannot be that much. It is like airstream trailers the bigger they are the cheaper they are.

holy hell that thing is huge

when you meant a busy, your really meant a fully articulating bus
DAAAAAAAAAM

I guess go big or stay home right?
you could make the back into a toy hauler and park the caddy INSIDE

I wonder what the neighbours think now!
