'56 Coupe window regulator
« on: June 06, 2017, 02:28:30 PM »
Good day.  Can anyone out there tell me if a '57 - '58 coupe manual RH front window regulator will fit my '56 coupe? Mine is messed up and I can get this one cheap and quick if it works.  Thanks in advance, gentlemen.  KenO
At a gas station the other day, a guy asks me "what kinda gas mileage do you get with a big old car like that?". "Who cares?" I replied, "it's a Cadillac!!"

Ron,

The 57-58 6237 does not appear to fit the 1956 6237 per the MPL as the 1956 shows as one-year only part, while the 6237 for 54-55 and 57-58 are seem to be interchangeable.

Thanks Jose. Isn't that strange....most manual 6237 regulators you see for sale on line are advertised as 1954, '55 and '56 interchangable. I just purchased one that was pulled from a 1956 6237, so I should be good. I appreciate your efforts tho.  KenO

Ken,

Unfortunately sellers will list anything as interchangeable with other years/models either to make the sale or unaware if the items do indeed interchange.

I have the Hollander interchange manual in case you need to validate but since you already have found one it is a mood point now. But just in case FYI for future reference.

Good luck..!

Good point, and another reason to come to this forum for the straight goods.  Thanks, man.
