This past Autumn, I purchased a 1957 Cadillac Coupe de Ville. Although I'll be the third owner, the car has been in my family since new.

She was originally purchased from Ted Schuman Cadillac/Oldsmobile, Merced, California in November of 1956 by my grandfather.

Build: #966, body: #242, colors: 20 Orion Blue/24 Tahoe Blue.

This car was ordered without A/C. Options include EZ Eye glass, power windows, 2-way seat, radio, heater, and Autronic Eye. It was delivered with Firestone whitewall tires.

Trim number is 42: Medium Blue Metallic Leather with Blue Sahara cloth.

Current mileage is just under 63,000.

My first tasks are: cleaning the engine bay, finishing up with the brakes (75% complete) and re-building the carburetor. The brake booster was re-built by Ed Strain in Pinellas Park, FL.

There is much work ahead, but I feel fortunate to have a nearly original car, and my goal is to keep her as original as possible.

I like the look. Thank You for the level of detail in your introduction

Really think original cars are very special. Even better in the same family with many memories that go with it. Besides owning a 54 Cadillac Coupe deville & 62 Cadillac Barritz I own a
totally original 1957 Olds 98 Starfire 4 door Holiday hardtop in the original Jade Mist color. Very similar to yours as far as being original and loaded with history.  At the Hershey Fall Show here in the east at the show on Saturday they actually have a class HPOF Historical Preservation Original Features which I have had my 57 Olds certified by the AACA club. Your car is a great canidate
for this and is without a doubt a beautiful automobile!

Thanks, Everyone, for your comments. When approaching a big project, it's always encouraging to have support from others.

And, thanks, Gary for the tip on the HPOF certification.

Hoping to show the car this Spring for the first time.
