How hard does your AC blow?
« on: August 23, 2018, 08:55:08 PM »
First forum question for me on the '62 I just bought...the factory ac cools great as far as the temp goes. But even with the blower switch all the way to the right there just isn't a lot of air coming out. It does not sound like there is any restriction, it sounds like the blower just isn't on very high at all (not much noise)...more like low or medium in a modern car. I can hear the blower changing speeds ranging from "barely on" to "low/medium" when I change the blower settings. Am I off base here, or is that the state-of-the-art for 1962 AC?

Thanks!

My '62 has the switch change air speeds on each click, but it definitely is not like a newer car. I know I will eventually replace the ribbed duct to more smoother as this slows down the air. Check the switch with meter.

FYI I noticed on hot days (80+) in Chicagoland it blows super cold air but not enough to cool the coupe. So over the winter am planning on Dynamating the floor and headliner.
