Author Topic: Searching for lower 1961 steering column convertible cover plate  (Read 187 times)

Hi everybody,

I am searching for a lower steering column convertible cover plate.
A cover plate with the mounted convertible switch - with or without switch.
I need a neat way to make my hazard light switch accessible ... :-)

Thanks!

Great idea, but you have to keep in mind §53a, IV Nr.3 StVZO.

"Dem Fahrzeugfuehrer muss durch eine auffaellige Kontrolleuchte nach § 39a angezeigt werden, dass das Warnblinklicht eingeschaltet ist."

One could argue that the turn signal indicators on the fenders do exactly that but as far as I know most TUEV inspectors want the ugly red control light visible within viewing range.

However, you could use "The light that wasn't there".

See, Cadillac anticipated everything, even requirements 58 years later ;)

That was exactly my idea ... I will use the green light in the dash as an indicator when hazard lights are on.

I will also add a trailer hitch to my 61 - and that's when I am going the green light in the dash too.

As soon as the trailer is hooked up (to check for blinkers) I will hook up the light too ... :-)
