1956 fuel line and retainer brackets for AC equipped car
« on: May 06, 2019, 11:47:04 AM »
Does anyone have good photos or a schematic of the steel and rubber fuel line and connections from where the line enters the engine bay area to where it attaches at the fuel pump? It appears that it followed the front of the engine and was held in place by one or possibly two "C" shaped retainer brackets? As my car has AC, there is that large "X" shaped compressor bracket also on that side of the engine, (which may have resulted in a different fuel line mounting arrangement). Mine was routed incorrectly and I would like to properly restore it to original. Looks like another addendum to the Authenticity Manual! Thanks. Clay/Lexi

Clay,

The steel fuel line coming from the chassis is the same and the rubber fuel line is the same. The difference is the routing because of the AC bracket as you mentioned. The C retainer mounts on the water pump bolt. See attached pic.
