Power seat transmission rebuild
« on: October 12, 2019, 05:52:26 PM »
Who has rebuilt their power seat transmission? I currently have mine apart and I'm cleaning it all up. The almost 60  year old lubrication needs
un-guming and re-lubing. what should I be using for a lubrication in this? Is white lithium grease adequate or is there a better lubricant I should use? Also what should I use to lubricate the cables with? Graphite or maybe just a light coating of the white lithium grease?

When I am finished I will try putting together a step by step post with pictures for anyone looking to do this.

Please photograph and post your steps. I have not opened mine up yet.

I have been using high temp bearing grease. I don't like how the lithium grease drys out.

How hard are videos to upload to this site? Iím thinking about breaking out my GoPro and doing a disassembly reassembly video on the seat transmission.

Please do it as I need to get my seat out for a service ! at the moment it moves back and forward slow, nothing else, tilt or up / down, moves but I do hear noise when switches are pressed.

Thanks
